Introductions
Howdy. I'm a displaced Texan living in Korea. I have two beautiful daughters and a feisty wife who draws and paints stuff. Then she talks about it. I usually politely nod.I have a close relationship with my Kindle. When I'm not reading, I like to play around on instruments ranging from four to eight strings. I'm not very good at any of them but my kids don't know that yet.
I love my job, my small circle of friends, and my local neighborhood coffeeshop. Life is good.
A few years ago, a coworker biked to work. He also mentioned the elusive cross-country Incheon to Busan bike trail. A competitive little light bulb went off in my head. Ever since, I've been riding. So it goes.
Now, on more occasions than necessary, I find myself on my bike. It's relaxing and calming. To me, there's much more to cycling than just rolling from Point A to Point B. Commuting to work makes the work day start and end on a good note. 100km and up day rides with a buddy help to keep me in shape. Most exciting of all are touring rides. I've gained a new appreciation for my adopted country by seeing the countryside from my bike seat.
This blog will be home to some plans and information for myself and other like-minded people. Whether you're interested in doing the Incheon to Busan trip sometime this year, or you're just curious about where to buy bike parts in Korea, or you're a seasoned rider looking for a new route or two in the city, I hope you'll find something useful here. Cheers.
